*NEW* SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM MANAGER- IMMUNOLOGY

Our Mid-Atlantic client is looking for a Scientific Program Manager to lead inflammation and immunity research partnerships to advance initiatives in autoimmune system disorders, inflammation, and infectious diseases. This is an opportunity to be a strategic leader for various consortia focused on drug research and target discovery initiatives. In a pre-competitive space, you will bring together industry, academic, and government scientific leaders, clinicians and regulatory scientists from public and private sectors to answer complex or risky questions that could not be solved individually or with a single perspective. In this role, you will also oversee management of the entire inflammation and immunity portfolio (strategic direction, new project development, and oversight of project managers) and take an active role in the progress and administration of project scope, timelines, and budgets. Responsibilities:

  • Manage/guide scientific project meetings, logistics, timelines, budgets, and team members
  • Oversee other activities related to the inflammation and immunity portfolio
  • Development and management of grants/contracts

Requirements:

  • MS or PhD in scientific field
  • 8+ years of program/project management experience (including knowledge and application of process, finance, and contracts for project activities to ensure goals are met on time and within budget) in biotech, pharmaceutical, or health related organization
  • Strong record of managing relationships among scientific and administrative partners from diverse sectors of biomedical science (industry, academic, and non-profit organizations)
  • Experience managing other internal project staff
  • Ability to oversee and provide strategic guidance multiple projects within the portfolio, while still performing day-to-day management on some projects

Preferred:

  • Background in basic or clinical immunology, autoimmune disorders, or infectious disease research
  • Vision and insight into the evolving needs in biomarker science and translational medicine in the inflammation and immunity field
  • Experience in regulatory science
  • Experience in managing drug development projects (clinical or pre-clinical)
  • Project Management Certification

Candidates must be N. American residents and have US work authorization for for-profit or non-profit companies, or be TN visa eligible. While the role is a hybrid at home/in office position, you should live in or be willing to relocate to the Washington DC metro area.
