We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Principal Scientist/Associate Director of in vitro pharmacology for our client’s dynamic research team. The successful candidate will lead and contribute to projects focused on advancing drug discovery programs through the design, execution, and interpretation of biochemical and cell-based assays. The position requires a deep understanding of pharmacology, proficiency in experimental design, and a track record of success in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry. Responsibilities:
- Project Leadership:
- Lead in vitro pharmacology projects, collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive drug discovery efforts forward.
- Design and implement experiments to evaluate the pharmacological properties of novel compounds.
- Assay Development:
- Develop and optimize biochemical and cell-based assays for target validation, hit identification, and lead optimization.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and incorporate innovative assay approaches into project workflows.
- Data Analysis and Interpretation:
- Analyze experimental data using statistical methods and present findings to project teams.
- Provide expert interpretation of results, contributing to decision-making processes.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in medicinal chemistry, biology, and pharmacokinetics to integrate in vitro pharmacology data into overall project strategies.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Biochemistry, or related field.
- Extensive experience (7+ years) in a pharmaceutical or biotechnology setting, with a focus on in vitro pharmacology, assay development, and CRO management.
- Proven expertise in the design and execution of biochemical and cell-based assays.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Track record of successful contributions to drug discovery programs.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
Plus Factors:
- Experience managing outsourced screening assays.
- Familiarity with immunology, especially inflammation target, assay workflows.
- Knowledge of diverse assays across immunology and other therapeutic areas.
